August MWF meeting will be a special, closed board meeting
We’ve been listing the Montana Women For August meeting in this newsletter, but this meeting is not open to the public. It is a business meeting for board members only. We regret any confusion this may have caused.
Support Montana Together in Denouncing Sen. Daines for Racist, Divisive Tweets
As you probably know, President Trump issued a series of offensive, racist tweets aimed at four congresswomen who criticized his border detention policy. Montana’s junior Senator, Steve Daines, then tweeted his support for Trump’s racist diatribe, doubling down on the racism and the idea of suppression of dissent, and had the nerve to claim to speak for Montanans in doing so.
A group of women leaders has put together a response to Steve Daines. Instead of Daines controlling the narrative of what Montanans are about, they are going to take it back. Montana Together plans to run full page ads in all major MT newspapers with a message that Montanans come in all political stripes bound by our common decency to help out our neighbors and make our communities stronger together. You can help by donating at the link listed below. If you're interested or can help pass the Gofundme site (see link below) along, we can buy more ads in more papers around the state.
So far, almost $6700 has been raised, and the first ads came out in the Billings Gazette both print and online today.
MWF News urges all our readers to check out the link- and thanks for all you activism and engagement!
