Microsoft Word: Beginner to Intermediate
4 Thursdays, 6-8 PM, Sept 20 - Oct 11, $40
Word is how the business and professional worlds communicate. In this class, you will use the latest version of Word to create professionally formatted and richly illustrated documents. This class will cover all the beginning-to-intermediate Word skill sets. The class is hands-on, using the computers workstations at Park High School.
Word has evolved into an incredibly powerful tool, rivaling high-end desktop publishing programs. You can now create great looking, sophisticated documents in Word, such as: letterheads, newsletters, brochures, even typeset your own booklet, or an entire book for printing.
Taught by Denis Ouellette
Denis Ouellette has been working in a professional capacity with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite since they first came out in the 1990s. He has been instructing others in publishing and graphics for years. He is currently a publisher and editor of a health magazine, using these programs and other desktop publishing tools daily. He is also a self-publishing coach working with new authors. Denis has a BS in Computer Science.

Not Your Average Sign Language Class: Levels I, II, & Beyond
8 Thursdays, 6-8 PM, Sept 20 - Nov 15 (skipping 10/18), $80
Have you always wanted to learn sign language? Have you taken a sign class before but do not remember much? Do you want signing and receptive practice? This is a fun class, taught by an experienced teacher, designed with much opportunity to practice fingerspelling, expressive and receptive skills and to develop an appreciation of the Deaf Culture, history of signed languages and issues affecting the deaf. Sign up with a partner if possible.

Linda Zupan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University where she also taught computer classes. Mrs. Zupan taught ten years of kindergarten in Shields Valley and has been studying sign language and teaching sign classes in Wilsall, Bozeman & Livingston for over 25 years. She designs her lessons to meet a diverse range of interests, needs and abilities. Her sign students are children of all ages (toddlers - high school students), adults, senior citizens and the elderly. Linda has taken several hours of sign language classes (SEE, MCE & ASL), has over 22 years of experience signing with deaf friends and is passionate about sharing her love of sign language with others!

Yoga with Rebecca

This class will be a mixture of Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga styles. Breath work (pranayama) will be the focus on working through a series of asanas or holding poses. This class would be beneficial for new and experienced yogis. Share your Thursday evenings releasing stress and connecting with your breath and mind.

Rebecca Sulages has practiced all forms of yoga and finds value in each form. She started practicing yoga to help center her mind and relieve stress, it worked so well she started teaching others the value of yoga. Rebecca has been teaching yoga since 2009 and enjoys sharing her practice.

Learn to Knit
4 Mondays, 6 - 8 PM, Oct 22 - Nov 12, $40
The class is for beginners to those with some experience.This class will teach you basic knitting stitches of casting on, knit, purl, and binding off. You will learn what the strange words and symbols mean in knitting patterns. You will learn what the different types and weights of yarns are called and what size and type of knitting needles to use with each. You will also learn to read labels on skeins of yarn.
We will talk about your first project, so bring your ideas. Good first projects are scarves and hats. Just in time for holiday gift giving!

Excel Spreadsheets

Microsoft Excel 2010 - This will be a fast-paced course that covers a lot of ground. We will start with the basics: formatting cells, editing cells, rows & columns, simple functions, worksheets. Then we will progress to complex functions, formulas, charts, sorting, filtering, importing and exporting data, and pivot tables. Yee haw! Master your data.
You do not need any prior excel experience; but comfort and experience using a computer is essential. In addition, comfort using a word processing program like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice would be nice. Call if you have any questions.

Baking with Sourdough

Learn to make one of the "healthiest" breads. There are many health benefits to sourdough. We will make it, bake it, and you will take it home to enjoy with family and friends. After a year of being on a gluten free diet, she slowly reintroduced wheat back into her diet. This is when she discovered that sourdough was easy to digest. Jelly Making

Stop paying store prices for the jelly you feed your family. Learn how to make your own jelly, it's easy, it's fun, and it is delicious. Together we will make grape jelly, from grapes grown locally, as well as apple, and chokecherry jelly. Everyone goes home with a jar of each jelly.
