The Sun in Nurturing Cancer by Father's Day Exact by 11:46 PM MDT on the 20th/The Celtic Month of the Oak/Year of the Bison lotus

Celtic Lore

The Oak Tree Duir symbolized by he White Horse and the pentacle mark the turn of the Summer Solstice and the days of greatest light. At the same time we get the increasing darkness as the wheel turns and the Sun King comes to reckoning with his dark twin the Winter Solstice.

The time of the Solstices marks the magical connection to earth and etheric levels of awareness. We gain solace from our connection to Mother Earth. Crops are planted and we urge the new growth to bear fruit in our ritual dance of the planets around the Sun.

Oak Moon June 10 - July 7: The Oak moon falls during a time when the trees are beginning to reach their full blooming stages. The mighty Oak is strong, powerful, and typically towering over all of its neighbors. The Oak King rules over the summer months, and this tree was sacred to the Druids. The Celts called this month Duir, which some scholars believe to mean "door", the root word of "Druid". The Oak is connceted with spells for protection and strength, fertility, money and success, and good fortune. Carry an acorn in your pocket when you go to an interview or business meeting; it will be bring you good luck. If you catch a falling Oak leaf before it hits the ground, you'll stay healthy the following year.

June Moon Diana

Mother Nature comes on strong this month, what with the first SuperMoon since January lining up in the sky on the 22nd, in the form of a new moon at 1° 30' Cancer – the first in a series of three new moon SuperMoons, in fact. Regulars know what this kind of alignment entails: "from extreme coastal tides to severe storms to powerful earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, the entire natural world surges and spasms under the sway of the SuperMoon alignment - within three days either way of the exact syzygy, as a general rule." (For more, see my 2009 World Forecast Highlights.) This does not bode well for crops in the fields this month. Weather extremes seem poised to hurt yields, and consequently raise prices on foodstuffs at a time when most other prices are tending lower. Added incentive to stock the pantry with non-perishables if you can . . . This particular SuperMoon alignment takes place on the same day the Moon reaches maximum declination north of the celestial equator: a combination that signifies an extreme lunation, with enhanced tidal pull on the atmosphere, oceans and crust of Planet Earth. Of course we should expect an upsurge in significant seismic and volcanic activity and strong storms with heavy precipitation and high winds, as well as unusual high tides during the June SuperMoon window, which extends from the 19th through the 25th. Uranus in Pisces Saturn Opposition Uranus

Bringing the Sky Down to Earth Home

Major themes: industry, technology, 'Western' 'capitalist' economic policies and system, autocracy versus democracy. Opposition suggests polarisation, extremes confronting one another, divergence, disagreement, tension, the need to reconcile differences and to start working towards reuniting and common ground, pulling in the same direction.

Saturn and Uranus remain within a few degrees of their exact opposition all month. Lurching from one crisis to the next in a process that continues on and off into 2010 (the last of the current set of Saturn-Uranus alignments), these are times to reduce debt and cut spending wherever possible – and, of course, to buy precious metals on the dips. But you know all this already, having read my forecast for the year. CF. Richard Nolle @ astropro.com Saturn-Uranus Cycle Years: Saturn-Uranus cycle A planetary cyclic diagram shows that the 2008-2010 opposition echoes the previous opposition in the mid-60s, and resonates forwards to the next one in 2056-57. What was begun at the conjunction in 1988 will reach maximum expression for this cycle in the next two years, needing to be faced up to, confronted head-on, and adjusted. In short, there will be a 'reality check' for the path we have followed with these themes, and there will be either a tense crisis and stand-off, forcing readjustment and compromise, or there will be a smooth transitional correction, flowing easily back towards equilibrium. The path of least resistance so often leads to the less favourable experiences at times of planetary opposition, whereas the healthier choices require more maturity, more human ingenuity, increased creative application, and a sincere willingness to seek a shift to a wiser, less ego-based perspective.

Venus’ intersolar cycle comes to an end this month, on the 5th. The flower won’t wilt and disintegrate in a flash, but the bloom is definitely off the rose from here on out. Mass psychology starts to falter; the markets lose a lot of their upward momentum and settle into a trading range. There’s probably a lot of turbulence in the markets and in mass psychology around the time of the June 22 SuperMoon and the Sun-Pluto opposition on the 23rd - but nothing falls off a cliff just yet. That happens this summer; maybe as early as late July, and pretty much a lead-pipe cinch by the time of the September 15 Saturn-Uranus opposition. Saturn having turned direct last month (on the 16th) and Uranus being a fraction of a degree from its July 1 station throughout June, these two planets are slowly creeping back into alignment. (Look for the Moon-Saturn alignment on the 28th, and know that Uranus is on the other side of the sky.) Uncertainty returns, apprehension replaces avarice, greed yields to fear.

Pluto in Capricorn:

Rendezvous with Reality: from Fire to Earth

To move from Sagittarius to Capricorn is to move from a Fire sign to an Earth sign. What has been envisioned (Fire) is moved into practice (Earth). This can be a smooth transition, or it can be an uncomfortable - even painful - rendezvous with reality...Moral compass, & expediency... Sagittarius is the sign of the Zodiac associated with forming a sense of morals with which to function in social groups. It is where we decide on guidelines of what is appropriate, ethical, fair, and just. Capricorn is the sign where that moral compass is taken forward into society's organising structures, norms, edicts, custom and practice. It is also the sign where any deviation from the moral compass is either corrected, reigned in, restricted, or punished..."

TUES WED JUN 23 24: Wednesday June 24 2009 After rising from sleep on Wed AM, to the magical overtures of prescient Uranus, (make note of those ideas for future reference) the day quickly becomes an exercise in midweek survival skills. A void of course Moon during the morning and a dearth of aspects throughout the day leave many folks wondering what their next move should be. Concentration is in short supply. If you have a day off coming to you, this could be a good time to get away from usual routines. The afternoon arrival of the Moon into Leo refreshes the young at heart. Let your imagination wander and innovative ideas will come. Moon in Cancer v/c 5:24am-10:50pm Moon enters Leo.

THUR FRI JUN 25 26: THUR:The Leo Moon loves a good time and for the first half of the day all goes well. Minds are chipper. Communications flow smoothly. Behind the scenes anxieties increase as the afternoon progresses. Job security, health care and other serious matters may require attention. Expect little sympathy because the Moon’s square to feisty Mars this evening has many folks preoccupied with their own worries. Lady Venus facilitates comforting words and gestures late tonight. Moon in Leo.

FRI: Here’s another day that begins with great expectations but seems to lose momentum before anything of consequence can be accomplished. A void of course Moon is to blame for a lethargic morning. Put your thinking cap on and consider alternative options. Do something creative. By early afternoon the Moon sets up shop in Virgo and revives listless spirits. Fine angles to Pluto and the Sun make the second half of the day one of the more fruitful periods of the week. It should be possible to wrap up many chores and projects before five o’clock and then go on to enjoy a stellar evening. With tonight’s Moon/Sun harmony comes inner peace as well as the chance to get along famously with members of the opposite sex. Waxing Crescent Moon in Leo is v/c 4:28am-9:47pm Moon enters Virgo, Mercury square Saturn.

SAT SUN JUN 27 28: Moon in Virgo is conjoining structured Saturn by 3:33 PM MDT. A great day to tidy up and organize the garden and household. The Mercury toMoon square in the evening hours is difficult for those who want to interact. Be creative and playful. Mars and the Moon are in trine so go with the elegant passion for physical delights!

SUN:A Void of Course waxing Virgo Moon is in effect by 9:26 AM MDT. By 3:24 PM MDT, you have the Libran Moon for planting flowers and vines. But watch out for Uranian forces that opposse the Virgo Moon. Try communication and retreat modes for solace. Later Pluto is contentious with the Moon and looking to get practical and relationship matters in balance. Therapeutic actions are favored here. MON TUE JUN 29 30: First Quarter Moon in Libra is exact by 5:28 AM @ 7 52. Give your playful side a chance to shine.

TUE: The Libran balance3 stays in effect until she swims into the depths of Scorpio springs by 10:19 PM. Void of course action means housekeeping tasks by 3:59 PM MDT. Communications, fantasy and the need for attunement to the greater good is in the mix. Good vibrations abound.
