Digital Photography

4 Thursdays, 6-7:30 PM, June 8 - June 29, $50

Have you always wanted to become an amateur photographer but don’t know where to start? Do you already take pictures but are not sure what all your camera can do or how to make your pictures more professional? This class is for you!

This class will be an encouraging environment to learn the basics of photography both compositionally and technically.

Each lesson will include information on one or two technical functions, such as shutter speed and aperture, as well as composition and conceptual ideas. Students will get to combine both in one assignment each week. We will look at the work of famous photographers as well as student work each week in an informal critique.

Taught by Elizabeth Salacinski

Elizabeth has worked with digital photography for three years and is currently working towards a BA majoring in photography at Montana State University. Her pictures have one first and second prize in the Park County fair and she hopes to become a dance photographer.

Adult Beginner Ballet

3 Thursdays & 3 Mondays, 6-7:30 PM, June 8 - 26, $45

Basic beginning ballet for adults. Class will include stretching, barre exercises, and center work. We will cover the basic steps, combinations, and terminology of classical ballet. Improve your strength, flexibility, and balance. Ballet is a wonderful form of exercise and is fun at any age.

Taught by Parsifal Pittendorfer

Parsifal Pittendorfer began his ballet studies at Yellowstone Ballet School in Livingston, Montana. He received scholarships to San Francisco Ballet School, Orlando Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater and Ellison Ballet, NY. Before joining his current company, Texas Ballet Theater, in 2014 he danced professionally with State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara, California.

Mommy & Me Yoga (or Daddy)

4 Mondays, 10-11 am, June 12-July 3, $20

Mothers and Fathers of Livingston, you are invited to bring your child to yoga class! This class will be a fun and mindful way to engage with your child and learn new yoga postures! No experience with yoga necessary, bring your curiosity and readiness to engage. Mats and props will be provided and you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Not Your Average Sign Language Class - Levels, I, II & Beyond

1 Saturday, 9-4, 1 Sunday,10-4, June 17-18, $65

Have you always wanted to learn sign language? Have you taken a sign class before but do not remember much? Do you want signing and receptive practice? Then this is the sign class for YOU! This is a fun workshop, taught by an experienced teacher, designed with much opportunity to practice fingerspelling, signing and receptive skills at your level! Emphasis will be on S.E.E. (Signing Exact English) comparing and contrasting ASL (American Sign Language). Sign up with a partner if possible.

Linda Zupan has taught kindergarten, MSU computer classes, MSU Peaks & Potentials (Grades 5-8) signing workshops, adult and senior citizen sign language classes and has also taught sign language sectionals to teachers across Montana. Linda has taken several hours of sign language classes (MCE & ASL) This class emphasizes Signing Exact English (SEE) for which Linda has extensively studied with the SEE Center for the Advancement of Deaf Children for which Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. recognizes offers continuing education credits.

Boot Camp with Sadie

4 Tuesdays & 4 Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 AM, June 20 - July 13, $40

In this class we will be working our entire body systems. Through High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), using mostly bodyweight, you will be sweating like you've never sweat before! High intensity interval training consists of shorter spurts of intense anaerobic exercise followed by less intense recovery periods. Push-ups, squats, jumping jacks, and lunges are just some examples of what we will be doing. However, these will all be performed in an unconventional, non-boring, manner! HIIT workouts are proven to whip you into great cardiovascular shape as well as tone your entire body. Whether you are a beginner or advanced in your exercise patterns, HIIT will be a challenge. Every exercise can be modified for your fitness level, which is what makes HIIT workouts a hit! Any equipment that will be needed for this class will be provided. Just bring yourself, lots of water, sturdy shoes, and a towel if desired! Up your cardio game and tone your whole body through bootcamp with Sadie!

Buti Yoga

Buti Yoga is a dynamic asana practice fused with primal movement, tribal dance, and deep core engagement. Unlike a traditional yoga practice, poses are not held statically, but involve lots of movement! Get ready to sweat, laugh and transform yourself from the inside out.

Betsy is 47 years old and discovered Buti Yoga this past fall and fell immediately in love! When she hit her 40s she realized crossfit, running and skiing were great, but she needed more yoga and stretching and came across buti and never turned back. She jumped at the very first Buti Yoga certification in Montana this winter. This practice has changed her life, her attitude and her body.
