I've been a proud Park County resident for 30 years. My wife and I live 5 miles outside of Gardiner. A summer job brought me to Yellowstone in 1972, leading to a 9 year career as Director of Business Operations for Yellowstone Park Service Stations in Gardiner. During a career break in an MBA program I developed a business concept and launched a web-based job board in 1995. CoolWorks.com is now 21 years old, employs 8, and has helped tens of thousands find meaningful work in great places -- like Montana.
Volunteering on the Park County Planning and Development Board since 2008, and serving as Chair for 2 of those years, has provided valuable insights into the workings and trends of the county. I've served a number of volunteer roles in Gardiner, including one year as President of the Gardiner Chamber of Commerce in 2011. I've also served as President of the Greater Gardiner Community Council since 2012. In that capacity I've volunteered on the steering committee of the Gardiner Gateway Project for several years, establishing productive working relationships with Yellowstone Park, Park County, the state of Montana, and several federal agencies and officials. That network was key to the success of the Gateway Project and other community minded projects we've tackled recently.
As Teddy Roosevelt put it, I believe that "Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." I like work that matters. After years of volunteering, I would like to contribute more directly by serving on the Park County Commission.
I look forward to working on your behalf, guided by the priorities of ensuring citizen-driven decisions, preserving our q
