Learn to Knit

Do you want to learn to knit? This is the class for you! A small class size will ensure students have plenty of opportunities for one-on-one help. Students will learn how to cast on stitches, how to bind off stitches, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and some basic increases and decreases.

Melissa has been knitting for about 15 years. Almost as long as she's been knitting, she's been teaching people how to knit. She loves to DIY, and knitting is handy as it's much more portable than some of her other favorites, like gardening or using a sewing machine..
Tai Chi with Leo Busch
8 Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7-8 pm, Oct 4-27, $40
The primary emphasis of the class will be on learning the classical long form of Tai Chi Ch'uan. In addition students will learn and practice Wu Chi meditation and Chi Kung. Wu Chi meditation is basic for centering, alignment and breath. Chi Kung helps cultivate Chi (energy) with the long range objective of developing an awareness of physical movement in conjunction with breath.

Leo studied Tai Chi Ch'uan with Sifu Joseph Fong Ha for 12 years in the Integral Ch'uan Institute, Berkeley, Ca. He also studied for 2 years with Master Wong at Mountain Lake Park, San Francisco, CA prior to studying with FongHa. He certified through the Integral Ch'uan Institute. He has taught Tai Chi Ch'uan for11 years.

This seminar is designed to provide you with guidance and knowledge to understand financial literacy, develop budgeting and saving tools and techniques and to understand the fundamentals of investing regardless of your experience. We will, also address why it is so important that women understand finances This seminar is organized into four sections:
Getting started: an overview of financial literacy for women. Why financial wellness is so important for women. What is financial literacy; budgeting, saving (for education, retirement), managing debt. Why financial planning is so important. How can you make small steps to organize your financial future.
Developing a budget, savings and debt management plan. Women's planning and savings strengths. Details on budgeting and assessment of current financial situation. Planning for immediate and future financial goals.
Understanding investing. Investing strengths of women. What are the different investment types. How to select and monitor investments. Defining your investment personality and risk tolerance.
Estate Concerns for Women. How to help an elderly parent or friend prepare. What basic estate items that need to be completed by everyone.

This class focuses on affordable and effective home strategies and naturopathic food and supplement based approaches that give your body what it needs to cleanse itself from cancer. Participants will learn trusted informational resources from peer reviewed research, leading doctors, naturopaths and best practices from cancer clinics around the world to educate themselves in comparing approaches as to what frequently used cancer protocols they may want to follow.
Participants will be able to look over a chemotherapy patient handbook from M.D. Anderson, find out about Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT), and peruse an entire library of anti-cancer books, nutritional books, and trusted websites for safe, effective protocols so their bodies can defeat cancer empowered by effective, safe, natural substances that cause no harm. How cancer gets started and multiple ways it can be quickly, effectively, and inexpensively stopped will be primary topics in the class as well as protecting yourself from ever developing the disease by learning 20 easily available foods substances that kill cancer stem cells. Kelly has been teaching group dance fitness since 2012. Beginning her journey with Zumba, she saw CIZE as a great new program and got certified in 2015. Kelly is a 2nd/3rd grade teacher at Arrowhead Elementary in the Paradise Valley. She has lived in Livingston since 2013 and is excited to bring this amazing new dance workout to the community.
Kiersten has been teaching group fitness for over 5 years. Like Kelly, Kiersten began her fitness journey with Zumba and after seeing the amazing program that Cize is quickly got certified with Kelly in 2015. My passion is to help everyone reach their fitness goals, while smiling and having fun the entire time.
Publish Your First Book

Are you a first-time author, or would you like to be? This will be a valuable overview of the many skills and industries involved. These include: Manuscript writing in Word, successful fiction and non-fiction word-crafting, editing, proofreading, typesetting, book layout, cover design, and illustrations. Preparing blurbs, endorsements and marketing materials. Procuring the ISBN, bar code and copyrighting. Getting printer quotes. Working with Amazon, Kindle, Nook and iBook to publish as an e-book. We'll explore your options for Print On Demand, Google eBookstore, and short-run printing. And finally, we'll explore your sales and marketing options for self-promotion (getting online and in-print interviews and reviews, etc.).
You will learn which parts of this you can (and must) do on your own, and which parts you should seek an expert. As a guideline, we'll be using Peter Bowerman's book, The Well-Fed Self-Publisher, including his very detailed time-line and checklists. After completing this 4-week (8-hour) class, you will realize that writing and publishing your own book is totally doable!

Denis Ouellette is currently the creator of a health magazine, "Natural Life News & Directory" and the author and self-publisher of his own book entitled "Heal Yourself." He has functioned as a publishing consultant, editor and graphic artist for 17 years and has taken many first-time authors all the way through from their raw manuscripts to a finished and printed book (and e-books).
